From October 30th to November 8th, the Gong Festival - Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano 2026 will be held in Pleiku ward and Ia Gri village in Bien Ho commune (Gia Lai province).
The golden hues covering the foothills attract thousands of visitors every day who come to admire and take photos. The sight of tourists standing amidst the flower-covered slopes, wearing flower crowns on their heads, has become familiar during festivals, contributing to promoting the local beauty.
However, in recent days, there have been instances of tourists picking wild sunflowers to use as accessories, and some locals weaving them into wreaths to sell to tourists. If this continues, many areas where the flowers bloomed early in the season will quickly wither, preventing later visitors from fully enjoying the flower season.
