Revenue growth and the transformation of the music industry.
The explosion of online music streaming platforms is fundamentally changing how the music industry makes money. Universal Music Group (UMG), one of the most powerful music giants on the planet, reported a continued surge in revenue from paid subscriptions in its Q3 2026 financial results.
Specifically, according to an announcement on October 29th from UMG, the group's total revenue in the third quarter of 2026 reached €3.394 billion (approximately VND 93.3 trillion), a 12.3% increase compared to the same period last year. Revenue from paid accounts in the recorded music segment alone increased by 19.2%. A UMG representative stated that this result was achieved thanks to increased wholesale prices combined with a steady increase in new subscribers.
Universal Music Group continues to record strong revenue growth thanks to its online music segment.
