Internet viewers are obsessed with a tiny dog who appeared to have adopted feline behavior after spending time with a cat.
Snowy the pup and his siblings, Daemon and Khaleesi, were adopted in 2025, and their new owner clearly adores them, even setting up a dedicated TikTok account, @house.of.barks, to share their daily antics.
The trio have thousands of followers, but one recent clip has seen Snowy in particular shoot to online fame, as he showed off his new behavior in a viral video.
Posted in November with the caption: “Catdog?”, it shows the sandy-colored dog sitting on his bed, and how he acts “one week after living with a cat.”
Snowy sits patiently inside a playpen, looking at his owner and licking his lips, while making quiet, short noises that sound incredibly like grumbly meows.
He repeats his “meows” multiple times, with his owner helpfully adding subtitles above his head—until, right at the end, he decides to go for the old reliable, and lets out a little bark.
TikTok users were fascinated, watching the video more than 3.2 million times, as one user asked simply: “Is the dog meowing?”
“This is so cute! I’ve seen cats barking but never a dog meowing,” another wrote, as a third posted: “I knew it! When I saw those barking cats, I knew there would be a meowing dog somewhere. Thanks for sharing!”
Veterinary surgeon Nick Horniman previously told Newsweek that it is “not unusual to observe a cat mimicking doglike behaviors,” and are “often shaped by environmental factors and social learning.”
“Cats are observant animals, and if they see a dog receiving positive reinforcement like attention or treats for certain actions, they may try those behaviors themselves.”
According to a comment from his owner, Snowy is a mix between a Chihuahua, poodle and terrier—and was being kept temporarily in the playpen beside as he kept trying to eat the cat’s food.
Newsweek has contacted @house.of.barks via TikTok for comment on this story.
